Document signature verification · India
Upload a DigiLocker PDF, XML-DSig document, or other digitally signed Indian government document. Get an instant cryptographic verification result — no account needed.
Important: SelfCheck is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any Indian government body. We verify digital signatures using publicly available certificate chains. We do not issue, authenticate, or replace any government document.
Indian government agencies issue digitally signed documents through platforms like DigiLocker, NSDL, and state transport authorities. These documents carry cryptographic signatures that establish the content has not been tampered with since the issuing authority signed them.
SelfCheck verifies these signatures independently. Upload a document, and we check the digital signature against the known certificate chain. The file is processed in memory and deleted immediately — only the hash and verification result are kept.
Validates the cryptographic signature on the document. Checks that the signature is mathematically correct and the document has not been modified since signing.
Certificate-to-issuer matching per document type. A valid CCA chain alone is not enough — the signer must match the expected authority.
CRL/OCSP certificate revocation checks and assisted verification for documents that cannot be verified automatically.

Aadhaar Secure QR code data. Requires the Aadhaar module to be enabled.
Digitally signed e-Aadhaar PDF. Requires the Aadhaar module to be enabled.
The digital signature is valid. The document has not been modified since the issuing authority signed it.
The signature could not be fully verified — the signing key may have rotated, or the certificate chain is incomplete. This is not evidence of tampering.
The document content does not match the digital signature. The file may have been modified after signing.

No. The file is processed entirely in memory and deleted immediately after verification. Only the SHA-256 hash and the verification result are retained. This is the same privacy model we use for email verification.
The Aadhaar module processes Aadhaar Secure QR codes and e-Aadhaar PDFs. It is disabled by default and requires explicit opt-in, following UIDAI guidelines. When enabled, only the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar number are stored.
